What Skewpoint does

Skewpoint turns live market data for BTC and ETH options into the numbers an options trader needs: where implied volatility sits across strikes and maturities, what an option or an exotic is worth on that surface, what a whole book is worth today, and how it behaves when spot and vol move. The surface is calibrated from live market data, so every price uses today’s smile.

Live BTC & ETH implied volatility surface

Each listed expiry is fitted with an SVI Jump-Wings (SVI-JW) curve calibrated on option mid prices. You can read the smile by strike or by delta, see the ATMF term structure, and get standard tenors from 1D to 12M with 25-delta and 10-delta risk reversals (put minus call) and butterflies. ATMF follows the market convention: the delta-neutral straddle strike. Two companion pages show historical realised volatility from 1D to 12M and today’s implied vol against realised vol, tenor by tenor.

Option pricer for vanillas and exotics

Price a BTC or ETH option for any listed expiry, a standard tenor or a custom date, from a strike or a delta. Each leg shows the price at the ATMF vol and at the surface vol of its strike, with Delta, Gamma, Vega, Vanna and Vomma. Standard packages (risk reversals, strangles, straddle, spreads, flies) are one click, and a strategy assistant fills the legs from plain English or French and can goal-seek an amount, strike or delta. The exotic pricer covers single and double barriers, one-touch and no-touch, double no-touch and double one-touch, and European digitals, with a vanna-volga market value on the live smile.

Portfolio valuation from an Excel or CSV book

Drop in your trades — vanillas and exotics on BTC and ETH — using the template or your own layout. Skewpoint maps the columns, splits the file into a BTC book and an ETH book, and values every trade on the live surface: M2M, PnL against premium, Delta, Gamma, Vega, Vanna, Vomma and one-day Theta, by product type and in total. A vega bucket table splits the book’s vega across 1D, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M, 9M and 12M.

Frequently asked questions

What is Skewpoint?

Skewpoint is a web app for crypto options analytics. It shows the live BTC and ETH implied volatility surface, prices vanilla and exotic options with Greeks, values a whole options portfolio uploaded from Excel or CSV, and runs risk analysis: a spot-vol grid, a barrier ladder and historical-simulation VaR and Expected Shortfall.

Is Skewpoint free?

Yes. Access is free: request access with your name and email and you are approved straight away.

Which underlyings does it cover?

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) options. BTC and ETH positions are always kept in separate books, so Greeks are never added across the two coins.

Can it price exotic crypto options?

Yes. The exotic pricer covers knock-in and knock-out barriers (regular and reverse), double knock-in and double knock-out, one-touch and no-touch, double no-touch and double one-touch, and European digitals, with USD or coin payouts.

Where does the volatility come from?

From live market data: option mid prices are converted to implied vols and each expiry is calibrated with an SVI Jump-Wings curve. Standard tenors from 1D to 12M are interpolated from the listed expiries.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Skewpoint runs in a web browser on desktop or phone. Portfolio files are read in your browser.
